Webb School Chapel Talks
Webb School is not a religious institution, but based on tradition, students attended mandatory chapel services before school, as I recall, twice per week. Each faculty member was expected to deliver a “chapel talk” a couple times per year. It did not have to be religious in content, but was an opportunity to provide thought provoking or values oriented material. I took this as an opportunity to express myself on topics I considered significant. In writing these out this block of talks helped establish my practice of essay writing that has carried over to other contexts.

9/11 Truth
About 2006 I started to grow skeptical of the official story of what happened on 9/11. A number of other scientists and engineers were publishing their critiques and their own analysis (notably Steven Jones, looking at evidence for the use of thermite and nanothermite in the buildings and a comprehensive website by Jim Hoffman highlighting evidence that actual demolition would be needed to bring the buildings down). I realized I had the capability to make my own measurements from the available videos using video frame tracking software. As a result I worked several years with Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, am currently the coordinator of Scientists for 9/11 Truth, and on the board of International Center for 9/11 Justice.
